Parents & Spectators Code of Conduct

In registering your child to play in the ESCPSNA competition, you are deemed to have read and accepted this Code of Conduct, and you agree to be bound by the rules.

•  Remember that children play sport for their enjoyment, not yours.

•  The emphasis of playing netball is on fun, fitness and team spirit.

•  Encourage children to participate, do not force them.

•  Only the coach is allowed to give the players instructions during a game.

•  Focus on the child’s efforts and performance rather than winning or losing.

•  Encourage children to always participate according to the rules.

•  Parents and Spectators are not to stand behind the baseline while a game is in play.

•  Never ridicule or yell at a child for making a mistake or losing a game.

•  Remember that children learn best by example, applaud good play by all teams.

•  Support all efforts to remove verbal and physical abuse from sporting activities.

•  Respect umpire decisions and teach children to do likewise.

•  A valid disagreement can be resolved through the correct channels, not at the game.

•  Show appreciation of coaches, officials, and umpires.

•  Support your school.
